Iraq presided over the first meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in its regular session (12), which was held within the series of meetings of the media and communications sector at the League of Arab States for the period 12-16 of this month, and was hosted by the UAE in Dubai on the occasion of its selection as the capital For Arab media for the year 2020.
A statement by the League of Arab States received / Mawazine News /, a copy of it, that "the meeting was chaired by a member of the Board of Trustees of the Media and Communications Authority in the Republic of Iraq Khalil Al-Tayyar in his capacity as Chairman of the Executive Office after receiving a decision headed by the Executive Office at the meetings of the Arab Information Ministers Council at the end of last year In the capital Riyadh. "
The pilot added, "The pilot managed the first meeting sessions with high responsibility and received Arab acclaim by all participants, who pushed for the approval of a package of recommendations and decisions that addressed issues of many items on the meeting's agenda. The responsibility of the Arab media system required convergence regarding its treatment, especially the risks of electronic media. Which the pilot called for the necessity of holding a special meeting to host the managers of social networking sites and open an open dialogue with them to address the cases of penetration and wrong use of the space of freedoms granted to its users, and to develop a unified Arab code of conduct to organize their platforms In addition to reactivating the role of the media in facing terrorism and emphasizing a number of important items on which decisions were taken during the meeting of the last regular session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, reviewing the measures that have been taken in relation to their implementation, identifying any obstacles that may prevent the continuation of implementation, and taking recommendations Necessary in this regard.
T noted that "the meeting was attended by Qais Al-Azzawi, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the League of Arab States, in addition to Khaled Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of the Standing Committee for Arab Media and Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Fawzi Al-Ghawil, Director of the Technical Secretariat Department of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, and with the participation of information ministers of member states and heads of Arab bodies, organizations and unions.
