Informed sources revealed today, Friday, the demand of the supporting team of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Commission for the contracts concluded in recent years during the era of Governor Najm al-Jubouri until 2022.
The sources reported that “the Prime Minister’s Office/the supporting team for the Supreme Anti-Corruption Commission addressed a confidential letter to Nineveh Governorate asking them to urgently provide it with the contracts concluded with companies for all projects in the governorate during the era of former Governor Najm al-Jubouri.”
According to the sources, the anti-corruption letter specified the period “from 2019 to 2022 and everything that includes analysis committees, contracts and bids.”
The sources added: The fight against corruption also demanded “providing it with the granted investment opportunities and a method for converting the land type for these opportunities and other projects.”
The sources continued; These measures came “against the backdrop of a number of representatives and politicians providing the Authority with information about these projects and the entities that acquired them.”
The sources suggested that “it is expected that an investigation will be opened into what happened during that period,” indicating that this “falls within the political conflicts between politicians who share projects in Nineveh.”
