She added that Abdul-Mahdi wants to nominate and elect Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi as Prime Minister, while Barham Salih wishes to nominate Faeq Sheikh Ali as Prime Minister.

Against the background of this dispute, the nomination of a popularly and politically acceptable candidate to head the next government was postponed for only 6 months until new elections are held.

It is reported that some media outlets indicated that Saleh had traveled to and participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

It also stated that "a prime minister will not be nominated for Iraq until the return of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland."
