Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi called on the House of Representatives and political forces to submit new candidates to head the government.
Abdul-Mahdi said in the cabinet session: "There is an improvement in the conditions of the country in areas and areas, but there are also problems and difficult challenges in other areas."
He added: "Some people are still trying to deal with the security issue by disrupting schools and blocking roads. We do not believe this has anything to do with peaceful demonstrations. Peaceful demonstrations are respected, express their opinion and be protected."
He continued: "The demonstrators are our sons, and we are keen that the situation does not escalate further in the country, because the country needs calm." He asked: "How can we reform a system while we disable schools and universities, disrupt public and private interests, and reach circles, and to what goal leads this?" This act is wrong, and the law is responsible for it. "
And he stated that: "Despite the public's demands, the security forces do not want to enter into contexts in which violence is used, and there are wounded and victims, and this happens when there is a threat of Molotov cocktails, closings, violence, and the use of knives, and this must stop because its consequences are incorrect and negative for those who do it and the country ".
He noted: "There is a big difference in the peaceful expression of opinion between the use of violence, closing schools by welding, depriving people of schools, and preventing access to interests."
He explained: "The country has suffered in the past, and it has to restore its calm and order to compensate for many of the losses suffered, so how will we implement the government program after more than three months of disruption, how can we go before the nations and fix ourselves and any families who are satisfied with this situation."
The Prime Minister stressed: "Most of the demonstrators are young people, and we have to take care of them and we have no biased view against them other than the patriarchal view that says this is a mistake and makes serious mistakes."
On the subject of foreign forces, Abdel-Mahdi said: "We started to open contacts on the decision of the House of Representatives to withdraw foreign forces and organize this vision in national consultation, and this needs a great effort."
He stressed: "The firing of Katyusha rockets at the US embassy is painful and incorrect, and this undermines the reputation of the country and offends Iraq and is unacceptable."
He emphasized that: "Either there is a state, or it is not, we are included in a procedural legal context in arranging the issue of the withdrawal of foreign forces." Abroad, it is an attack on the host country, and whoever claims to serve Iraq must take care of the interests of the Iraqi state, especially in these situations. "
On the subject of running for the presidency of the next government, he said: "The government submitted its resignation about two months ago, and we are still asking the parliament and political forces to present new candidates to hand over the tasks and responsibilities to the new government in a smooth and smooth manner, and we can return to the conditions of a full-fledged government, and so far it has not taken place. It is as if they are the survival of the government does not want to bear responsibility, and they have to bear the costs as this government has borne the costs. "
