Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi revealed the readiness of President [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/71341/%D8%A8%D8%B1%D9%87%D9%85 %D8%B5%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AD]Barham Saleh to[/url] assume the presidency of the government in the event of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi failing to gain parliamentary confidence, stating: "The deadline granted to Allawi will not end without offering his cabinet."
Al-Tamimi said in a press statement: "The period of (30) days granted to Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi will not end if Parliament does not hold its session."
He added: "Allawi presented his booth and curriculum to Parliament before the end of the term, as the defect lies in Parliament and there is no one in it," indicating: "If Parliament votes negative, the President of the Republic will assign another candidate according to Article 76f / IV and V of the Constitution."
