The Iranian Ministry of Health has apologized for canceling the presence of French Doctors Without Borders in Iran to set up a field hospital.
In this context, the spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Kianosh Jahanpur, explained that this French team was to set up a field hospital with a capacity of 48 beds in one of the Iranian medical centers, adding: Today we have ten thousand beds in hospitals and ten thousand other beds for the recovery period and the majority of this family is vacant, Accordingly, finding 48 new beds does not benefit us, and we, within the framework of offering our apologies, express our thanks to them for this humanitarian step.
For his part, Ali Reza Wahhab Zadeh, counselor of the Minister of Health, tweeted: “The MSF team did not include any specialist in infectious diseases or a specialist in corona disease. The team includes an emergency doctor and a few consumer equipment that are produced indoors as well. Also, the medicines were not private drugs subject to the ban to reduce the consequences and repercussions of the unjust ban. While dozens of field hospitals for the armed forces are on standby, and many hospitals are empty, we do not see any necessity for the presence and presence of this team and the setting up of a field hospital with 48 beds.
