BAGHDAD / NINA / The spokesman of the Ahrar bloc, Jawad al-Jubouri said that "the coming hours will be decisive in nominating candidates for the three presidencies." Adding that "everyone in continuous movement for naming the candidates or selecting alternatives, not only for the post of the next prime minister, but President of the Republic and the Speaker."
He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "the next few hours, which precede the holding of the parliamentary session, will be crucial for the naming of the political blocs for their candidates for the three presidencies," noting that "it is not about just the National Alliance and its candidate to head the next government."
He added that "the issue of the selecting candidates is not limited only to the prime minister by the National Alliance, but it seems that there is an agreement between the forces of the Sunni component to select the President of the Parliament nor between Kurdish forces for the post of President of the Republic."
He stressed, "The need to get compatibility between the different blocs on these positions in order make the first parliamentary session productive to nominate the right person in the right place."
The Presidency of the Republic issued a decree calling the council to convene on next Tuesday, while dialogues are continuing between the political blocs on the choice of candidates for the posts of Prime Minister, President of the Republic as well as the President of the House of Representatives.
