, the Minister of Agriculture, Saleh al-Hassani, denied on Wednesday his televised statements about allocating $ 90 million from the currency auction for the purpose of importing unnecessary materials.
The Supreme Judicial Council stated, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "Minister of Agriculture Saleh Al-Hassani came before the judge of the Karkh Investigation Court to investigate his statement to one of the satellite channels about allocating $ 90 million from the currency auction for the purpose of importing unnecessary materials."
The statement added, "The minister denied these statements to the investigating judge and stated that they were fabricated, while the court decided to verify the veracity of the statements in the meeting and indicate whether the speech was fabricated or not."
The council continued, "The information contained in this meeting, if proven incorrect, is promoted according to the provisions of Article 211 of the Penal Code by imprisonment and fines as false news that harms the public interest." Ended 29 / A 43
