The International Monetary Fund suggested that the deficit in the Iraqi budget would reach twenty-two percent of GDP.

In a statement, the International Monetary Fund described Iraq's deficit as the worst in the Middle East and North Africa, indicating that Iraq's economy may contract by up to ten percent.
The statement indicated that the Iraqi per capita gross domestic product may drop to four thousand two hundred and eighty-two dollars, the lowest level witnessed in the country since the year two thousand and six.
