An official source at the Basra Oil Company said in a press interview, "The staff of the (Zubair Operating Authority) company and those with it from the supporting authorities have begun putting the final touches to the completion of the largest electric power generation stations in the company, which is one of the important contracts concluded by Basra Oil. With the American company (General Electric) to supply the Zubair field with electric power, as well as supplying the national grid with 300-400 megawatts, which will contribute to improving it. "
He added, "This project is one of the infrastructure projects for Iraq and Basra Governorate, as it will supply the national grid with up to 400 megawatts, and if the transmission lines are developed, the surplus will be more than this number, and what distinguishes this station is that two of the generation turbines in it operate from Over gas or fuel. "
He explained that "the total capacity of the station is 700 megawatts, and it is characterized by high efficiency and not being affected by high temperatures in the summer. It is also one of the environmentally friendly stations in terms of gas emissions left by the generating stations, and the station contains four turbines, the capacity of one turbine in normal conditions." It amounts to 176 megawatts, as it is hoped that the station will be inaugurated next April, and it will be managed by the company's electric power generation division.
On the other hand, "the source confirmed that the staff of the Basra Oil Company had completed the work of installing a meter system for the Yamama gas isolation station, which comes within the obligations of the company's ownership metrics division in front of the regulatory authorities and the Ministry to install crude oil meters at the exit of the production stations, which aims to measure production Actual terminals. "
He explained that "the staff there were able to set up a meter system for the Al-Yamamah gas isolation station, as a result of the experience gained in the operations of installing many meter systems, as they succeeded in installing three systems in the West Qurna field / 1 with the operator (ExxonMobil) and five meter systems in North Rumaila. With the actuator (BP), in addition to eight systems in South Rumaila with the actuator (BP) and seven systems in the Zubair field with the operator (ENI), the mechanical connections of the meter system, electrical wiring and others have been completed.
The source indicated that "the counters system of the Yamamah gas isolation station was supplied by the Dutch company (Krona), and the meters cover the daily production of the station of 50 thousand barrels," noting that "the meters division in the company is the one that carries out on-site inspection of the system, and is done through a theoretical examination." For all parts of the meter system, including temperature transmitters, the meter itself and pressure transmitters, to ensure their safety, as well as to ensure that the signal sent from the meter to the control room is correct and that the numbers are very necessary in correcting the calculated quantity inside the meter.
