Kurdish MP: We were not informed of holding a session tomorrow and agreeing on the budget has become impossible

Al-Najjar said in a televised statement today, Tuesday, "The budget charts the financial policy of the state, and in all countries there are consensuses and political parties within the parliament and after consensus vote on the budget and important laws."
She added, "The budget has made compatibility impossible between the Shiite and Sunni forces, but to no avail," noting that "there is a consensus between the blocs on Article 11 in the budget for allocations and the share of the Kurdistan region, and there is agreement on it that there is no problem with it."
She indicated, "There are many differences between the political blocs, including the exchange rate of the dollar, which is not the prerogative of Parliament, but rather of the central bank and the government," adding, "We would have preferred to raise the dollar step by step and not all at once."
Al-Najjar expressed her hope "from the blocs of agreement and radical consensus to pass the budget because it affects the lives and sustenance of Iraqis."
She pointed out that "parliamentary blocs demanded large allocations for electoral purposes, and the budget shifted from economic to political."
Last Sunday, the House of Representatives failed to hold a session to vote on the 2021 budget bill for the continuation of differences between the parliamentary blocs, and changing the dollar exchange rate became one of the budget dilemmas.
Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said during the cabinet session held today, Tuesday, "We hope to stay away from auctions in the issue of the dollar exchange rate, as the decision was taken by the Central Bank according to a targeted vision and strategy, and we began to see the results on the growth of monetary reserves, and on Iraq's international credit rating." .
"We look forward to expediting the passage of the federal budget law, and the paragraphs it contains that address the needs of the poorest classes, and support service projects that affect the lives of citizens," he added.
