Today, Monday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, discussed with former Oil Minister Ibrahim Bahr Al-Uloom the political and security developments in the country.
The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement that “Dr. Barham Salih received Ibrahim Bahr Al-Ulum at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.”
According to the statement, "During the meeting, they discussed political and security developments in the country, and efforts aimed at holding early, free and fair elections that would enhance citizens' confidence in the political process."
Saleh affirmed that "there is no alternative to strengthening the rule of law and consolidating the principles of social justice based on establishing the spirit of citizenship and working to provide the requirements for a secure, stable and fully sovereign Iraq, with the participation of societal actors, political actors, political thinking centers, civil society organizations and political decision centers in fulfilling its requirements." .
