{Local: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Agriculture Committee stressed, on Tuesday, the need to tighten inspection procedures at border crossings to prevent the entry of any prohibited materials.
The head of the committee, Salam Al-Shammari, said, "Iraq has trade agreements with many countries of the world that include, in particular, some fruits, vegetables and animal products." Stressing that "the government must fully coordinate with these countries, whether regional or other, through joint committees to prevent the weak from exploiting these products and introducing prohibited materials with them." Al-Shammari stressed "the need to ensure that any product that enters the country is healthy in particular, to keep it away from any danger and eliminate the ways of criminals and corrupt people in their attempts to flood the country with prohibited materials that target youth and pay the price for their children and society in general."
