{Local: Al Furat News} The Iraqi ambassador to India, Falah Abdul Hassan, revealed, on Tuesday, that the Indian authorities refused to transfer the deceased Iraqis to their country, indicating that they were buried in India

Abdul-Hassan said in a press statement, "The Iraqis do not communicate with the embassy when they are infected with the virus. Rather, some of them try to hide the matter and provide medical reports proving that he is free of the virus in order to allow him to return to Iraq."
He added, "Some of the Iraqi deceased in India were infected with the epidemic and the embassy was informed because of the companions of the deceased needing an Iraqi death certificate based on the Indian death certificate in which the cause of death is mentioned, and these are the cases that we only know about, as for the other cases we are not aware of."
The Iraqi ambassador pointed out that "the embassy does not have a statistic about the number of people infected with the new or old strain among Iraqis stranded in India, but the number of virus-infected deaths among the patients among them exceeded six cases."
On the third of May, Iraqi Airways evacuated hundreds of Iraqis stranded in India due to the suspension of flights between the two countries after the further spread of the mutated Corona virus here.
And the Iraqi Ministry of Health announced that it will oblige the returnees to quarantine a hotel until it is confirmed that they are not carrying the mutated virus
