The Ministry of the Interior reveals the latest developments in the electronic passport and its working date

{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Interior revealed the latest developments in the work of the electronic passport project and the date of its work in the country.
Interior spokesman Major General Khaled Al-Muhanna told {Euphrates News}, "The plan to change the Iraqi passport is in the works, and the work has been referred to an investment company that takes care of the infrastructure and the {hardware} and software} of the program.
He added, "There is a time limit set for all countries of the world to convert the ordinary passport to an electronic one within the year 2023."
And Al-Muhanna said, "The electronic passport provides great services, including that the citizen passes through electronic gates away from queues, and these gates ensure his entry and exit and his visa."
He pointed out, "Work according to this system and its completion will be in the next year 2022, according to the plans developed for the project."
