Iraqi Oil Minister: An integrated development plan to advance the exploration sector for gas fields

Mubasher: The Minister of Oil and Chairman of the Iraqi National Oil Company, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, confirmed today, Tuesday, the company’s keenness to maximize hydrocarbon resources through an integrated development plan, aimed at accelerating the transition of this wealth from exploration and digital expectations on paper to the reality of tangible investments on land. Reality added to the oil and gas wealth in Iraq.

The head of the National Oil Company added, during a meeting he chaired to discuss an integrated development plan to advance the exploration sector for gas fields, according to a statement by the ministry, that the meeting comes as part of a series of intensive meetings and dialogues to finalize an integrated development plan aimed at accelerating optimal investment plans for hydrocarbon wealth throughout Iraq.
Ismail indicated, that the company is conducting a comprehensive assessment of the reality of these hydrocarbon compositions with its expectations of the existence of wealth and large reserves, especially from free gas, which it seeks to invest by the national effort in cooperation with sober international companies, stressing that this plan will be presented to the Council of Ministers in order to obtain Approval and budget monitoring.
The meeting was attended by the first vice president of the company, Hamed Younis, the director general of the Department of Reservoirs and Oil Fields Development, the general manager of the Oil Exploration Company, and the director general of the petroleum contracts and licenses department, in addition to the team charged with preparing and following up this file.
