Shafaq News/ On Saturday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi stressed Iraq's need for a strategic infrastructure with international specifications for roads and bridges, commensurate with the country's geographical location.
Al-Kazemi said during the opening of the first phase of the Baghdad-Hilla road, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "We have to establish a strategic transportation infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and others, with international specifications, taking into account that it is at the level of the aspirations of future generations."
He added, "Our exceptional geographical location imposes exceptional work to enhance the value of our country's location as a link and communication between our surroundings."
He continued, "Today we are opening the Baghdad-Hilla road, the first part of it has been successfully completed, and work is continuing to complete the rest of the parts, and we will follow up the implementation closely."
And Al-Kazemi added, "In the short period of time for this government, we launched important projects in the field of roads and bridges, including this project, the road leading to the city of Basmaya, and several bridges in Nasiriyah and Mosul, as well as developing plans for important projects, most notably the ring road to the city of Baghdad, and other provinces."
"We look forward to completing these projects during the next year, and the next government should work on establishing new projects in the field of roads and bridges to facilitate the movement of citizens inside and outside the governorates," he said.
Al-Kazemi expressed his hope that "all workers work seriously and quickly to complete the projects in place, we are in a race against time, and our responsibility is to hand Iraq over to future generations in the best possible way."
He stressed that "Iraq needs to mobilize all government and private sector efforts to find a comprehensive reconstruction movement in various fields, especially roads that represent the main nerve of trade and transport in any country."
He concluded by saying, "Iraq deserves from all of us to make more efforts, and everyone should be on the level of ambition."
