{Economic: Al-Furat News} The former director of financial control, Salah Nuri, revealed, on Wednesday, the possibility of overcoming the economic crisis if oil was dispensed with and to go to clean energy in a major sector.

Nuri told Al-Furat News, "There is an option that comes in the second place after oil that can support the economy, which is agriculture in Iraq, which is another alternative or a second supporter, due to the availability of its requirements in Iraq from fertile land and water, and the cost of capital in agriculture is much less than what is required in industry." .
He added, "Iraq's economy is historically agricultural, and unfortunately at the moment we have two layers, the merchants and farmers. The first does not want agriculture because they work on imports and fight agricultural production, and the second complains about the lack of government support."
"For years, the government has had to think about agricultural production and stress it, because agricultural production is included in the private sector, providing local needs and crippling the workforce," Nuri said.
And he indicated that "self-sufficiency in importing is also included in the industry because the raw material is available, and that the basis of the Iraqi agricultural economy and that the merchant classes are fighting it because it does not serve them and there are great challenges. The agricultural sector must start to find solutions that are better than making pessimistic statements."
