{Political: Al Furat News} A member of the Azm alliance headed by Khamis al-Khanjar revealed the latest developments in the talks with a coalition headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi regarding the position of parliament speaker.
Muhammad Abd Rabbo told {Euphrates News}: "We are trying to agree with a coalition that submitted before holding the first session of the House of Representatives to nominate a person to assume the duties of the parliament's presidency."
"It is possible for us to go to a candidate from the Azm alliance, if no agreement is reached with progress on the candidates," he added.
And Abd Rabbo said, "If the agreement does not happen, we will go to the House of Representatives to adjudicate over the candidate, but so far we have not discussed the issue of the settlement candidate or the joint between Azm Advance and the latter's adherence to Halbousi's candidacy. It is also possible that we support another person who has submitted."
The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, announced today, Thursday, that he had signed the republican decree to invite the new parliament to convene on Sunday, January 9.
It is noteworthy that the Federal Supreme Court, has ratified last Monday on the results of the early parliamentary elections that took place on the tenth of last October after responding to the appeal submitted against the results.
