The KDP and the Patriotic Union go with a joint delegation to Baghdad
Shafaq News/ The meeting held by the political offices of the two main parties in the Kurdistan Democratic Region and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan led today, Wednesday, in Erbil, to an agreement to go with a joint delegation to the capital, Baghdad, to negotiate with the forces and political parties regarding the formation of the next Iraqi government.
The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, said in a joint press statement with the leader of the Patriotic Union, Imad Ahmed, after the meeting, that this is the first meeting at the level of the political bureaus of the two parties, during which we emphasized the joint work in negotiating with Baghdad, adding, "We want the participation of the rest of the parties. The Kurdish political party is in the delegation and the negotiations, but the relations between us and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan are the basis and we will go together to Baghdad.”
For his part, Imad Ahmed said during the statement, "We stressed during the meeting that we went to Baghdad aimed at guaranteeing the rights of the Kurdish people, and the entitlements of the region in the formation of the next federal government, and in the Iraqi state so that we can be real partners in the new, democratic, federal Iraq, and in order that We can provide better services to the code and the Iraqi people as a whole."
