The International Energy Agency expected the growth of electrical energy consumption in Iraq to more than 6% annually, indicating that solar energy for power generation will not contribute significantly during the period 2022-2024.

The agency expected that “the electricity consumption in Iraq will grow at a rapid rate of more than 6% annually until the year 2024,” noting that “the Iraqi state is gradually reducing the energy deficit with the completion of at least one gas investment project (Halfaya) and many projects to revitalize power plants. gas powered.”
