All hopes rest on the parliament session next Saturday. Some of them believe that the (the tripartite alliance) will be present and will pass the election of the President of the Republic with complete comfort without the need for a coordinating framework, and this is what Muqtada al-Sadr and the Kurdistan Democratic Party suggest.
On the other hand, the coordinating framework appears to lack a quorum for the Saturday session, and they own the blocking third, and there will be no election or passage of the President of the Republic, no matter how much al-Sadr offers financial temptations or ministerial or government positions to independents.
And between this and that, the Iraqi political scene is going through a dangerous slide and political blockage. The past elections produced winning and losing blocs, and opposition and skeptical of the results, and these complications in the political scene between the tension and the lack of consensus in opinions and positions hinder the formation of the new government.
Al-Sadr’s waving during his last tweet that the current elections produced many new independent representatives who will have an active and positive role in the political process and demanded that they leave the neck of consensus into the space of the majority and demanded that they attend the Saturday session, which is a clear indication of their inclusion under his cloak.
In fact, the follower of Al-Sadr’s tweet finds within it the clear and intense concern that the Triple Alliance suffers and is afraid of not achieving the quorum of the voting session for the presidency and passing his project by a majority, which prompted him to present temptations to the independent deputies for the purpose of winning over to him.
As for the coordinating framework and its allies, they have made up their minds and will not attend the session unless there is consensus and understandings with all parties. If there is no understanding, the decision will be taken not to participate, he and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and some blocs.
But he is reassuring that the Saturday session will not be held without him, and the quorum will not be complete because they own the blocking third, and the coming hours, until the date of the session, will witness changes and alliances that may be decisive. Either we proceed together to form the next government, or there is complete chaos, God forgive.
