Al-Maliki said in a televised interview, "It is impossible for the other party (the tripartite alliance) to gather 220 deputies in the session to elect the president of the republic," adding, "If the Saturday session is not held, the tripartite coalition will be forced to hold negotiations for the purpose of understanding with the coordination framework."
He continued, "We reject the threats against independent representatives to accept the dictates of some political parties."
Al-Maliki indicated that “the coordinating framework owns the decision to choose the president of the republic because he owns one-third of the guarantor,” noting that “one of the parties to the tripartite alliance wants to exclude part of the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds.” Ended 29 / p. 87
