The Kurdistan Democratic Party announces the intensification of efforts within the tripartite alliance to get out of the political blockage
Shafaq News/ The Kurdistan Democratic Party announced, on Sunday, that it will start a series of meetings and meetings with political forces and parties to overcome the political blockage in the political process in Iraq within the framework of the "Save a Homeland" alliance, while stressing the need to hold legislative elections in the Kurdistan Region on schedule, Its general conference is likely to be held at the end of 2022.
This came in a statement made to reporters by the party's spokesman, Mahmoud Muhammad, after a meeting of the party's leadership council under the supervision of Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani, the party's deputy head, Nechirvan Barzani, members of the leadership council and other officials.
Muhammad said in his statement, that the party leadership council held a normal meeting after a long break due to health conditions and the outbreak of the Corona virus, indicating that the meeting discussed a number of important axes, including the issue of holding the party’s general conference, the Kurdistan elections, as well as our relations with neighboring countries, and support for the government The region is concerned with the reform process that it has embarked on, and several decisions have been issued on these axes.
Regarding the internal situation of the region, the spokesman stressed that the parliamentary elections in the region will be held on their scheduled date in early October, stressing the need to bring the views of the Kurdish political parties closer before proceeding to the polling day.
Regarding the political situation in Iraq, Mahmoud Muhammad said: We have intensified our efforts, and as of tomorrow we will start a series of meetings and meetings in order to find a way to overcome this political blockage in order to proceed with the formation of the next federal government, within the framework of the tripartite alliance.
He explained that the appointments set by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, for the political forces will be completed, and that the (Save the Homeland) alliance is in direct contact and continuous communication with the parties and those forces in order to address the political blockage.
With regard to the 14th General Conference of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Muhammad said that at most, the conference will be held in the month of November or December.
