Shafaq News/ Foreign remittances from the dollar rose significantly at the expense of cash sales in the first opening of the Central Bank auction today, Sunday.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated, "The Central Bank of Iraq sold today, during its auction to buy and sell US dollars, 190 million and 205 thousand and 541 US dollars, which the bank covered at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent added that more than 89% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, amounting to 170 million and 955 thousand and 541 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to 19 million and 250 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 29 banks have met requests to enhance balances abroad, and 13 banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 133 mediating companies.
