Parliamentary Oil: More than 100 deputies signed the questioning of the Minister of Oil, and his file is complete with us
Shafaq News / A deputy from the Parliamentary Oil Committee revealed today, Tuesday, that the signatures of more than 100 deputies have been collected to interrogate the current oil minister in several files, while indicating that the interrogation file is complete and is waiting only for a date to be set by the Presidency of the Council.
A member of the Parliamentary Oil Committee, Alaa Al-Haidari, told Shafaq News, "We asked the Ministry of Oil to reformulate some paragraphs of the licensing rounds law, and unfortunately there is an opinion of the Ministry of Oil not to respond to our request."
Al-Haidari added that "there is a parliamentary consensus to host and question the Minister of Oil, and accordingly more than 100 signatures were collected from parliament members to question the minister."
The member of Parliament stated that "there are a number of deputies who adopt the question of the questioning of the Minister of Oil, and there are a number of topics in this file, most notably the licensing rounds and contracts with oil companies, contracts with the French Total and Petro Company, and the transfer and placement of managers under the caretaker government."
And MP Al-Haidari continued, "The interrogation file is complete in form and legality, and it remains only for the Presidency of the Parliament to set a date for the interrogation," noting that "in the event that the minister's answers are not satisfied during the interrogation session, there will be an opinion of parliament members dismissing the minister and withdrawing confidence from him."
