In the first quarter of 2022... Iraq imports $1.5 billion worth of oil derivatives
Shafaq News/ The Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) revealed that the imported oil products for the first quarter of 2022 amounted to more than 1.5 billion dollars.
Somo said in her schedule, seen by Shafak News Agency; The imported quantities of gas oil during the first quarter of this year, starting from January to the end of March, amounted to 270,298 tons, with a financial value of 272 million and 775 thousand dollars, while the imported quantities of gasoline amounted to 1 million and 162 thousand tons, with a financial value of 1 One billion and 204 million and 53 thousand dollars.
She added that the imported quantities of white oil during the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 80,564 tons, with a financial value of 68,551 thousand and 193 dollars.
She pointed out that "the total imported quantities for the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 1,514 thousand and 544 tons, with a total value of 1 billion and 545 million and 359 thousand and 997 dollars."
Iraq is the second largest exporter of oil in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, but at the same time it imports oil derivatives from countries around the world, due to the inability of Iraqi refineries to produce the required quantities from local consumption.
