The Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq denied that a delegation from the Kurds and Sunnis and the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri went to Al-Hanana in the city of Najaf to meet with the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada Al-Sadr, with the aim of reaching a solution to the current political crisis.
The official spokesman for the Supreme Council, Ali Al-Dafia, said that “there is no truth for a delegation from the Kurds, Sunnis and Al-Amiri to visit Al-Hanana to meet the leader of the Sadrist movement,” noting that “there are almost features of an agreement between the coordination framework and the Kurdish and Sunni forces until the return of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi from New York and the end of Visiting the Prophet’s death on Sunday, in the hope of communicating with the Sadrist movement and proceeding to announce a parliamentary session.”
It is noteworthy that parliamentary parties recently said that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Sovereignty Alliance and the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri put forward an initiative for the political parties, aimed at getting Iraq out of the state of political impasse, where a joint delegation is scheduled to visit the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada Al-Sadr in Najaf.
Regarding the nomination of Muhammad Shi`a Al-Sudani to head the government, Al-Dafie stated that “Muhammad Shi`a Al-Sudani will be passed,” noting that “Al-Sadr, so far, has not opened his door, and there are attempts to happen something new, otherwise we are going to hold a parliamentary session.”
