[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]5 hours ago28In the coming days, the Ministry of Interior will resume the process of printing the unified national cards for citizens after a hiatus of several weeks, while preparing at the beginning of next month to close the first phase of the card project.
The Assistant Director-General of the Unified National Card Affairs in the Ministry, Brigadier General Muhammad Sadiq, said that "the directorate will resume, in the coming days, the process of printing the unified cards after concluding a contract to supply them with about five million cards," according to the official newspaper.
Sadiq added, "The directorate will print the cards and hand them over to citizens who have submitted their data and checked by the employees of the unified card departments, while printing is done immediately for humanitarian cases or for which a certain party submits a request."
He explained, "The Directorate is preparing, during the next month, to complete the first phase of the national project for the unified national card after closing all the departments of the Directorate of Civil Status, except for five of them in Nineveh, which will close soon after providing them with staff."
He continued, "The first stage includes creating a database for citizens by adopting a chip and an electronic system, which is saved in (data), and the citizen is given a number of his own that is not repeated and is not given to anyone even after his death," stressing "the inability to forge the card and therefore the citizen is not required to health of her breasts."
