On Tuesday, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani Abdul-Zahra discussed with the Japanese ambassador in Baghdad, Futoshi Hatsmutho, and the head of Japex, Masihiro Fujita, to enhance joint cooperation in the development of the oil and gas industry.
The Minister of Oil stressed in a statement that "the ministry and its formations are keen to create the appropriate environment for the work of international oil companies, in a way that supports the development of the oil industry, the optimal investment of gas, and the raising of the country's oil and gas reserves."
He praised the "historic relations with Japan and the two countries' keenness to strengthen them to serve common interests, including joint cooperation with Japan in implementing the FCC project in the South Refineries Company."
For his part, the Japanese ambassador expressed "his country's desire to strengthen the frameworks of joint cooperation with Iraq in the fields of oil, gas and energy." finished/25h
