On Tuesday, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad al-Ziyadi, expected the arrival of the 2023 budget during the next week, indicating that the government will be unable to pay the salaries of employees for the next year due to the lack of legal cover.
Al-Ziyadi said in a press statement, "The government was late in sending the budget for next year because of the delay in fixing oil prices due to the global fluctuation of its prices."
He added, "The delay in sending the budget will not last because of the parliamentary and societal demands of the government regarding sending legislation in order to make the necessary amendment and then approve it."
Al-Ziyadi indicated that "the biggest crisis that the government will face in the next month is its inability to distribute salaries due to the lack of a legal basis for paying employees' salaries, because Law 12/1 has expired and it cannot be proceeded with what obliges the government to send the budget, in addition to issuing a decision in cooperation with Parliament." To find a legal formula for the payment of salaries.
