Shafaq News/ The UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, hosted, on Wednesday, a mini-Arab summit similar to the one that was held two years ago, but this time Iraq was absent from it, for reasons that are still unknown.

And last year, the former Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, participated in a similar summit, which was held in the Jordanian city of Aqaba, and was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The mini-summit, in which the leaders of the Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman participated this time, discussed regional and international developments and the political, security and economic challenges facing the region.
And a picture circulated by Arab media showed that the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, hosted a meeting described as brotherly with the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa, the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad, the King of Jordan Abdullah II, and the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the meeting aimed to consolidate and deepen cooperation between these countries in all areas that serve development, prosperity and stability in the region, through more joint action, cooperation and regional integration.
The leaders discussed, according to (WAM), the fraternal relations between their countries, and a number of regional and international issues and developments of common interest and the challenges facing the region politically, security and economically.
The leaders stressed the importance of "coordinating positions and strengthening joint Arab action in dealing with these challenges in order to ensure building a more stable and prosperous future for all peoples of the region."
They stressed the importance of adhering to the rules of good neighborliness, respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, in addition to discussing cooperation and building economic and development partnerships between these countries and at the Arab level in general.
