His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Monday, February 6, 2023, at the Baghdad Palace, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mahdi Safri, and the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadeq, and the accompanying delegation.
At the outset of the meeting, the President received with appreciation and pride from the guest delegation the greetings of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his wishes of continued success to His Excellency the President and the Iraqi people for continued prosperity and prosperity, while the President of the Republic entrusted the delegation with his greetings to President Ebrahim Raisi and his wishes for further progress for the Iranian people.
During the meeting, the President of the Republic praised the depth of historical relations between Iraq and Iran, pointing to the need to strengthen them to include various fields and for the mutual benefit of the two friendly countries.
President Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid also stressed the importance of raising the level of cooperation, praising Iran's role and standing by the Iraqis in the era of dictatorship and its aftermath in the war against the terrorist organizations of ISIS.
For his part, Dr. Mahdi Safri extended his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic, stressing the desire and keenness of the Islamic Republic, government and people, to strengthen the bonds of communication and cooperation with Iraq in various fields and in a way that serves the higher interests of the two neighboring countries and peoples, indicating that the joint economy committee between Iraq and Iran will hold its meetings during Days all issues of common interest will be discussed.
