    The Minister of Environment, Eng. Nizar Amidi, affirmed the Ministry's full preparation and completion of the twenty-eighth Conference of the Parties to Climate Change, to be held in the United Arab Emirates, and the start of implementing the environment strategy and joint projects to reduce chemical pollution in Iraq. 
    This came during a meeting held by the Minister of Environment with the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program in Iraq, Oklahoma Tosma, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the ministry and the program and to prepare for the twenty-eighth conference of the parties to climate change in Dubai. 
    Indicating that there are several environmental challenges faced by Iraq, especially issues of climate change and the effects of wars and terrorism on the Iraqi environment, referring to the preparation and implementation of field and field projects to reduce environmental pollution, support biodiversity, enhance ways to serve natural systems, achieve sustainable development, shift towards a sustainable green economy and encourage the use of clean energies. Renewable and nature-based solutions. 
    The Minister of Environment expressed his thanks and appreciation to the United Nations Development Program for the great support of the Ministry, stressing the necessity of continuing this cooperation between the two sides.
