Alsumaria News - Localities,

the head of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, today, Saturday, called for fairness to the farmers and the payment of their financial dues on the occasion of the Farmer's Day, while stressing the need to change the agricultural and irrigation systems for the better.

Al-Hakim said in a statement received by Al-Sumaria News: "The Farmer's Day is a suitable occasion to add our voice to this toiling segment, and to demand fairness for it by providing it with a decent life, raising its morale, paying its dues first-hand, and encouraging it to cling to the land, continue production, and know its problems to work on resolving it."

He pointed to the necessity of "developing villages and eliminating destitution and poverty, in addition to striving with all force towards a comprehensive agricultural renaissance, reclamation of the desert, lining rivers and canals, and the use of agricultural mechanization."

The head of the al-Hikma Movement called for "changing the agricultural and irrigation systems for the better, paying attention to exporting products surplus to the local market's need, manufacturing and providing supplies in sufficient quantities and at reasonable prices, and supporting active agricultural associations."[/size]
