    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs submitted a letter of protest to Kuwait and announced Iraq's rejection of the Kuwaiti side's installation of an oil exploration station in Khafka Creek, located within Iraq's exclusive economic zone.
    And the ministry said in a letter it addressed to Representative Amer Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, and obtained (Baghdad Today), “Referring to your letters numbered 68 and 69 on 11/23/2022, we enclose with you a copy of the memo of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs No. 3/5/1784/ 9 on 3/19/2023, which included the rejection and protest of the Government of the Republic of Iraq against the Kuwaiti side installing a station for oil exploration in Khor Al-Khafka within the exclusive economic zone of Iraq, after the matter was presented to the two committees of the Diwani Order No. (123 and 110 of 2021) and approved Minister of Foreign Affairs on 3/4/2023, noting that a copy of it will be deposited with the United Nations for the purpose of protecting sovereign interests.
    [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A member of the House of Representatives, Amer Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, addressed the two foreign oil ministries with official letters accompanied by information confirming that the Kuwaiti side had conducted exploration and drilling of an oil well near the Basra oil port within Iraq's territorial waters, confirming the existence of a Kuwaiti offshore oil platform.
