A member of the House of Representatives, representing the New Generation Bloc, Badria Al-Barzanji, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the three governorates of the Kurdistan region are living in a “bad situation” and the suffering of the Kurdish people is “continuing,” while accusing Al-Yakti and Al-Parti of acquiring and monopolizing all financial wealth.
Al-Barzanji said in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, “The three governorates of the Kurdistan region are living in a bad situation, and the Kurdish people are witnessing the damage and their suffering continues.”
She added, "The Erbil government exports thousands of barrels of oil daily, but the Kurdish citizen will not get even a barrel, especially in light of the cold weather in the previous days and the current period."
A member of the House of Representatives explained: “We do not have electricity that we provide to citizens with all these oil revenues, and this gives a clear indication of where the revenues of the Kurdistan region go.”
Al-Barzanji confirmed, "The two ruling parties monopolize and control everything, at a time when the Kurdish people are living through great suffering and will not be able to benefit from any benefits that come to the Kurdistan government."
The three provinces of Kurdistan are witnessing difficult economic conditions despite the amount of financial and non-financial revenues entering the regional government, which leads to pointing fingers of negligence towards the Kurdish people at the political parties in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
