Kurdistan intends to open offices at the border crossings to deal directly with Iran and Turkey

Shafaq News/ The Director General of Trade in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Kurdistan Region, Nawzad Sheikh Kamel, stated on Saturday that the ministry intends to open offices in four land border crossings to grant licenses for direct trade with Iran and Turkey.
Sheikh Kamel said in a speech during the conference on trade exchange between the region and Iran, which was held in Sulaymaniyah, that during the first six months of the year 2023, more than 2,000 licenses were granted to merchants, more than 1,000 of which are related to commercial dealings with Iran.
He added, "This trade movement makes us feel that the trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iran are at a good level."
And Sheikh Kamel continued by saying: We obtained approval to open offices at the four land border crossings, which are: (Ibrahim Khalil, Haj Imran, Parwezkhan, and Bashmakh), noting that, the goal of opening these offices is for merchants to go directly to them for the purpose of obtaining approvals and licenses without referring to Ministry in Erbil.
