Iraq and Turkey have discussed the opening of two border ports to boost economic cooperation and trade movement between the two countries, the border crossings authority said Tuesday.
Kadhim al-Aqabi met the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad, Fatih Yildiz. "The two sides discussed activating the prospects for cooperation and strengthening the joint relations between the two countries," the agency said in a statement.
The statement added that "the opening of two border ports from the Iraqi side in Vishkhabur, the Turkish side of the port of Avakoy, and the identification of the month of September next, a date for the visit of the perpetrators by a technical team to prepare for the feasibility study to provide the importance of the opening of the two implementers, Smooth flow of goods and goods ".
