[size=45]Based on the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Minerals, the Department of Industrial Development and Organization in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals organized a workshop at the headquarters of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Region for the purpose of explaining and clarifying the most important measures to be taken to protect local products, in implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. (13) of 2019 regarding By standardizing customs procedures between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, and to overcoming obstacles and facilitating procedures for protecting local production in accordance with the Iraqi Products Protection Law.[/size]
[size=45]The workshop, which lasted for five days, from (6 to 10 August) was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industrial Affairs, the Director General of the Planning Department and the Director General of Industrial Development in the region. It was also attended by a large number of industrialists and factory owners in the region.[/size]
[size=45]The workshop included a detailed explanation of the provisions of the Local Products Protection Law, the application process and the necessary procedures to complete the legal formality of the protection request.[/size]
[size=45]On the other hand, the Minister of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Region met with the lecturers at the workshop and praised the efforts exerted, providing an explanation and clarification of the objectives of the law, answering questions and inquiries submitted by industrialists, and working to achieve ways to advance the local industry in all governorates of Iraq.[/size]
