    [size=45]On Thursday, Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of specifications, standards and conformity assessment between the Iraqi Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control and the Jordanian Standards and Metrology Institution.[/size]
    [size=45]The Iraqi Chargé d'Affaires in Amman, Munif Ali, told the official Al-Sabah newspaper, "This memorandum is of great importance in the developing economic relations between Amman and Baghdad, indicating the importance of increasing and strengthening cooperation in all fields."[/size]
    [size=45]The head of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in Iraq, Hussein Ali Dawoud, explained to the official newspaper “Al-Sabah” that “the memorandum of cooperation will be the beginning towards more partnership at various levels between Jordan and Iraq, noting that harmonizing specifications and mutual recognition of conformity certificates would work to achieve Improving the quality of industry in both countries.[/size]
    [size=45]For her part, the Director General of the Jordanian Standards and Metrology Institution, Abeer Barakat Al-Zuhair, told the official Al-Sabah newspaper, “The signing of the agreement comes as a continuation of the great efforts made by the Jordanian and Iraqi parties in order to reach economic integration and bilateral cooperation built on strong bonds of brotherhood.” Explaining, “The agreement will contribute to the flow of goods between the two sides, reduce obstacles to intra-trade, and achieve common benefits for both countries.”[/size]
