    [size=45]Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Thamer Ghadhban on Thursday the ministry's keenness to strengthen relations with neighboring countries and Arab countries and the development of the oil and gas industry in the country.
    [size=45]This came during the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Oil and Gas in the Sultanate of Oman in the field of oil and gas.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Ghadhban said that the memorandum of understanding signed aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and gas in addition to the export of Iraqi crude oil to the Sultanate of Oman and the import of oil derivatives from the Sultanate and the establishment of warehouses and stations to store crude oil and petroleum products in both countries.[/size]

    [size=45]The MoU also discussed the possibility of establishing a joint oil refinery in the Sultanate of Oman to refine crude oil imported from Iraq, as well as exploring prospects for joint cooperation and local investment opportunities in the oil and gas industry, investment in exploration and production of oil and gas, refining, manufacturing, Oil companies in both countries.[/size]
    [size=45]He added that the memorandum of understanding also included the transfer of modern technology and the exchange of information and experiences between the two parties, the promotion of technical cooperation in the field of oil and gas, the preparation of joint scientific research and the organization of workshops and seminars and training courses in the fields of joint cooperation.[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, Omani Minister of Oil and Gas Mohammed bin Hamad said that his country is keen to develop relations with Iraq in all fields. The signing of the memorandum of understanding with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil is one of the doors of joint cooperation with Iraq, and we will work to strengthen these relations and develop them in the interest of the two countries.[/size]
