    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Chinese ambassador to Iraq, Cui Wei, announced on Wednesday that the problem of transferring money to China is subject to oversight by the United States and that Beijing has no hand in this matter.
    This came during a meeting with the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee headed by Representative Hassanein Al-Khafaji and in the presence of a number of its members, according to a statement by the Media Department of the House of Representatives received by Al-Sumaria News.
    The meeting, which was attended by Representative Mojan Al-Saadi, member of the Health and Environment Committee, discussed the most important problems that Iraqi merchants suffer from in commercial transactions with China and ways to overcome obstacles to intra-trade between the two friendly countries.
    Representative Hussein Al-Saabari stressed the need to facilitate the granting of entry visas to Iraqi merchants who have work and trade with China, especially since Iraq has granted great facilities in this matter to Chinese citizens who want to visit Iraq.
    On the other hand, Al-Sabari raised the problem of Iraqi merchants who suffer from the issue of financial trips to China, calling for the necessity of finding alternative solutions to facilitate the transfer of money to China by opening branches of Chinese banks in Iraq and dealing in the Chinese currency and the Iraqi dinar in trade between the two countries.
    For his part, the Chinese ambassador expressed his happiness to come to the House of Representatives and the Investment Committee to listen to the opinions of the members and discuss the problems obstructing the conduct of commercial work between the two countries.
    The ambassador added that the problem of transferring money to China is subject to oversight by the United States and China has no hand in this issue, noting that the Chinese embassy has been communicating with the Iraqi government and the Central Bank since the beginning of this year regarding the issue of opening a branch of the Chinese Bank in Iraq and dealing in local currencies to facilitate trade between the two countries.
