Shafaq News/ The Kurdistan blocs in the Iraqi Parliament demanded, on Tuesday, stopping military movements inside one of the residential areas in Kirkuk Governorate.
It was stated in a document signed by the heads of the Kurdistan blocs, addressed to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and entitled “Do not militarize cities,” obtained by Shafaq News Agency, “We demand that the Prime Minister approach the Prime Minister to stop military movements into the districts and districts by sectors of the Ministry of Defense, the most recent of which took place in Topzawa area in Kirkuk Governorate.
They added, "At a time when the efforts of various parties concerned for the present and future of Kirkuk continue to consolidate the principle of shared fraternal coexistence among its various components and nationalities and to strengthen cohesion among its people, we see from time to time attempts by the Ministry of Defense to rehabilitate the military barracks in the region, which represents... A clear symbol of the notorious Anfal campaigns and the crimes committed by the defunct Baathist regime against the people of Kurdistan, which to date include many traces of those crimes that shame humanity, in addition to the fact that the area is a residential area inhabited by the people of the village. The signatories called on all relevant parties to stop these attempts. Which has become a threat to societal peace and arouses dissatisfaction and resentment among the people of this village, which has suffered for decades under the rule of the former regime,” calling on the parties behind these attempts to stop inciting the feelings of the people of the region in order to do justice to them and their families who fell victim to the crimes of the former regime, as they put it.
