    Today, Sunday (March 17, 2024), Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani called on the Baghdad government and its council members to pay attention to the outskirts of the capital, rationalize drainage, and resort to professional opinions.
    Al-Sudani's office said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani received the Governor of Baghdad, Abdul Muttalib Ali Al-Alawi, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Ammar Hussein Al-Qaisi, and members of its council."
    According to the statement, Al-Sudani congratulated the attendees for “gaining the confidence of the people of the governorate,” stressing that “the completion of the legislative, supervisory, and executive authority of the local government is one of the most important features of the political system after 2003, with the positive space it represents in work, reinforced by the powers and the allocated budget, which must be Support it with perseverance and sincerity.”
    Al-Sudani stressed “the necessity of working as one team, and mobilizing efforts and time to create a success story that will be felt by the public,” noting that “the achievement will enhance confidence in the work of the councils, within the vision and program of the local government with the efforts of the executive authority.” 
    The Prime Minister pointed out “the necessity of sending positive messages, and that the work program of the local councils be in harmony with the work of the federal government,” stressing “the importance of paying attention to the outskirts of the capital, and taking into account the aspects of rationalizing drainage and its destinations and the process of selecting projects, and resorting to professional and scientific opinions, away from any Trends.
