A member of the Finance Committee in the Iraqi House of Representatives, Jamal Kujar, confirmed that it is the federal government’s intention to release the salaries of the month of March to employees of the Kurdistan region by next week, indicating that the committee will add the Minister of Planning to end the crisis in disbursing the provinces’ dues.
Representative Jamal Cougar explained in a statement followed by Mawazine News that the Federal Ministry of Finance is determined to localize their salaries, and “whether the salaries are digitized or not, Baghdad must send the money, and Baghdad should release the salaries for the month of March by next week.”
In this regard, Representative Jamal Cougar indicated that the meeting was dedicated to discussing the governorates’ development budget, as “there is a problem in disbursing budgets to the governorates.”
According to Jamal Cougar, the Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament will host the Iraqi Minister of Planning today, Wednesday, to discuss a group of issues.
