The government shocked the citizens of Baghdad with decisions described as absurd and ill-considered, which mixed the cards of employees, government departments, and citizens in general, in addition to the decision to raise the prices of improved fuel without prior warning.
Oil expert, Bilal Al-Khalifa, criticized the government's increase in gasoline prices by more than 30% as part of a plan to activate public transportation and reduce traffic congestion.
Al-Khalifa said, in a statement followed by Mawazine News, that “raising gasoline prices, according to the government, targets individuals with high incomes, but most people own cars known as American imports, which need improved gasoline.”
He added that the opening of the Karbala refinery is supposed to ensure sufficiency in importing gasoline, and therefore there is no reason to raise it, noting that to maximize revenues, customs exemptions for Jordan should have been cancelled, and subsidized oil for Jordan should have been cut, which is less than $20 of the world price.
He stressed that raising fuel prices would lead to raising all commodity prices.

A. The official working hours begin for government departments in the Green Zone and the ministries of (Foreign Affairs, Planning, Agriculture, Water Resources, Environment, Migration and Displacement, Communications, Youth and Sports, Culture, Industry and Minerals), (Central Bank of Iraq, Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, Baghdad Municipality, and Aviation Authority). Civil), at seven in the morning and ends at two in the afternoon.
B. The official working hours for the three presidencies and the ministries (Interior, Defence, Health, Finance, Electricity, Justice, Labor and Social Affairs), the Ministry of Education and all associated schools and institutes, begin at eight in the morning, or according to the duties assigned to them by service and security departments and institutions, and end at three in the afternoon. noon.
C.
