    [ltr]Follow up of Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]The Boko Haram terrorist group kidnapped 111 girls during a terrorist attack on a school in the Nigerian state of Yobe, local newspaper BM News reported.[/ltr]
[ltr]Information about the number of missing female students was mixed. There were reports that they were 50 girls, while others reported that the number was more than 100.[/ltr]
[ltr]The state government announced on Wednesday that the army had rescued the girls, but the governor of Nigeria's Yubei state said the 69 students who were reported to have been rescued from the militant Boko Haram group had yet to appear.[/ltr]
[ltr]In 2016, the Boko Haram terrorist group posted a video showing girls abducted by the organization from the northern Nigerian city of Shibok in April 2014, asserting that some girls were still alive while others had died in air strikes.[/ltr]
[ltr]Human rights groups say Boko Haram has abducted more than 2,000 people four years ago, 500 of whom have been freed, and Amnesty International has counted 38 mass kidnappings by the group since early 2014.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Boko Haram group is active in northeastern Nigeria, opposes the Western model of education and seeks to apply Islamic law throughout the country.[/ltr]
[ltr]Niger, Cameroon and Chad are carrying out military operations against the group, which are repulsed by terrorist attacks that have killed many victims[/ltr]
