    announced Agriculture Minister Saleh al - Hassani , Wednesday announced the launch of the Central Bank initiative to support the ministry through the implementation of extensive afforestation campaigns in Baghdad and the provinces to combat desertification. 

    "The initiative of the Governor of the Central Bank was launched within the Tamkeen Fund to support the Ministry of Agriculture represented by the Department of Forestry and Combating Desertification to carry out large afforestation campaigns in Baghdad and all governorates of Iraq, " al-Hassani said in a statement .

    He said Hassani, that " the initiative is the production and cultivation of (200,000) two hundred thousand trees in the eradication of desertification campaigns and adapt to climate change and minimize the negative effects of the storms of dust and sand , " asserting that "Alt_khasarat for the launch of the campaign will start from this day tocoincide with the Christmas tree and holiday Nowruz " .
