The Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals announced, on Monday (March 22, 2021), that a meeting will be held regarding the Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian Economic City and Industrial Integration, as part of preparations for the tripartite summit .
In a statement received on the IQ NEWS website, the ministry said that the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, discussed a number of files and issues related to activating and integrating industrial cooperation between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan .
She explained that he had met with the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naeem Al-Ghazi, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in the presence of a number of concerned ministers and officials, to discuss the paragraphs of the Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian Tripartite Coordination Council in light of the preparations for the upcoming tripartite presidential summit .
According to the statement, the meeting dealt with a series of files and topics, most notably the Economic City, the tripartite industrial integration project and the Iraqi-Jordanian industrial cooperation protocol, in addition to discussions on joint industrial activities .
The Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi Parliament confirmed, yesterday, Sunday, that the upcoming visit of the Egyptian president and the Jordanian king to Baghdad is due to a previous agreement with the former prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi .
Informed sources reported, earlier, that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II will visit Baghdad "soon," to complete the steps that the three countries started at the Amman tripartite summit, which culminated in the cultural expectation between the three countries .
It is noteworthy that Iraq, Jordan and Egypt announced in Amman at the end of the eighth month of last year an agreement between them. The summit focused on economic issues between the three countries, specifically with regard to energy, intra-trade and investment .
